What to Expect
We promise to make your first experience
in our office unique, beginning with a warm and friendly greeting
from our professional staff! During
your first visit, you can expect:
- A patient care coordinator will
greet you and gather any documentation such as insurance information
or new patient forms. Your dental and
medical history will be reviewed and we will gladly answer
any questions you may have.
- Next you’ll meet with our dental assistant,
who generally takes a full mouth set of x-rays (unless we have
received a recent set
from
you or your previous dentist).
- Then you will see one of our dentists
who will do a comprehensive exam and take an intra-oral camera
tour of your mouth to view
the condition of your gums and teeth.
Depending on the individual
needs of the patient, the dentist may also perform:
- oral cancer screening
- periodontal and hard tissue
examination
After assimilating the results of this examination,
the dentist will meet and discuss with you the the findings, including
diagnoses and
suggestions for your individualized treatment. This
is
considered your treatment plan.
Once your treatment plan is established,
you will meet with our Treatment Coordinator to discuss and schedule
your procedures. For your comfort, we offer:
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
- Warm hot towels to freshen after procedures
- CD players for relaxation
- DVD movies during long procedures
- Refreshments including coffee, water, juices
and light snacks
- Ultra-Leather Dental Chairs
- Children's play area
- We offer a childrens play area separate
but adjacent to our waiting area. This area
has toys,
easel for drawing, books for reading, and
a television with children's videos. We strive
to provide
quality entertainment for children while waiting.
